“When you help someone out, don’t think about how it looks. Just do it—quietly and unobtrusively. That is the way your God, who conceived you in love, working behind the scenes, helps you out.’
Matthew 6 .4 The Message
Nepal Leprosy Trust operates in four main programme areas:
1. Hospital
Lalgadh Leprosy Hospital and Services Centre (LLHSC) in south east Nepal. Outpatient and inpatient services are provided to people affected by leprosy where prevalence continues to be the highest in the country.
2. Community action
Lalgadh Leprosy Hospital and Services Centre field staff work with those affected by leprosy to care for their wounds and combat stigma in the community.
3. Social support
Programmes help support: children through education, malnourished infants are supplied with buffalo milk to supplement their diet and accommodation is provided for severely disadvantaged women and families.
4. Income generation
Those affected by leprosy and other marginalised people are employed producing high quality handcrafted goods or are helped to set up small businesses.
